Age: 30
Height: 5'2"
Current: 160
Target: 125

I was always skinny in high school and then when I was 24 and had my daughter I gained some weight. I had a problem getting it off and then i had my son at 29 he is 2 and I have yet to lose some of the weight I gained. I was at 190 before delivery I am at 160 now and I still want to lose another 30 or so pounds.

I don't like diets they always leave me still hungry. I have done an HcG injections and 500 calorie diet that was insane. I did it for a month and I was down to 130lbs but as soon as I had to stop because I could no longer afford $200.00 a week for the injections the weight just came right back. I have made every excuse not to get up early and do anything. I can't afford gym and I don't have time on lunch to go work out. I have decided that I will take an extra 30 minutes in the morning to work out. I have started a LJ to track my progress if you guys want to take a look and contribute as well. I am new to this so I am not sure how to share anything so I hope I am doing this right.

I wanted to join because want to meet others who are also on this life changing path to better themselves. I also wanted a place where I could talk about anything and everything I want.

It is nice to meet you all and please feel free to add me as a friend since I am not sure how to do it anyway :)

Hi there! Sounds like you have a good goal. I just have about 7 pounds left to lose. Trust me, you don't need a gym membership to get there. I took up kickboxing twice a week for extra cardio and strength training, but there's so much you can do at home. A set of ankle weights has changed my body so much, and I do those lying on the floor while I read. I also have a set of 8 lb dumbells.

If you don't already have one, get a Pinterest account, and go to the health and fitness section and browse that. Or, search "at home workouts" on Pinterest. There are really neat little lists of things to do in your house, like "7 minutes for arms and core" or "10 minute leg circuit" or "living room cardio." You just need to clear a little space on your floor and maybe use a stop watch, which you can find online.

You can do this. Set reasonable goals. 1600 calories a day, and then 5 days of 30 mins of work outs. And make sure you're doing both cardio and strength training of some sort. Take a walk with your family some evenings. You can do this!

Wow 7lbs way to go! I have had a lack of motivation before so it has been hard for me to lose weight but now I have the drive to fit into my clothes again. I also am in a wedding in July and if I could lose 10lbs in May and June. I would be happy. I want to look great in my brides maids dress.

Thank you-- and I bet you will look fantastic! Just try eating clean, and getting in a few workouts here and there. The key is not to overwhelm yourself such that you give up. Good luck!

Do you have a plan yet?

I don't really have a plan. I am just trying to be more aware of what I eat and be more active. I got a bike for Mother's Day and a bike trailer so I can take my kids with me. I am sure pulling that extra 70lbs behind me is going to help alot. I haven't lost anymore weight since my 7 pounds but I am not giving up.

I think that's a really healthy goal. And a bike is a great Mother's Day gift-- I know that'll help keep you active. I'd set out a plan/goal, like two hours per week or something (four 30-minute rides) just to make sure you're really using it.

I like your attitude- keep it up!
